A crunchy, savoury, snack Ari Murukku is one of the traditional Kerala snack food of Kerala and all most all south Indian states. Even though its origin is from TamilNadu and even the name is derived from the Tamil word representing Ari Murukku’s shape, Malayalees also used it is as much as Tamilnadu people using. The Kerala Ari Murukku has many variations, resulting from the types and proportions of flours used. Based on this proportion, the shape of Murukku will change. Some types have an uneven texture that gives it an extra crunch. There is also Ari Murukku which is made by hand using stiffer dough. Ari Murukku is very different with an aroma of roasted Urad gram flour

Kerala Ari Murukku is typically made from Rice and Urad Gram.

Spices used for its unique taste and soothing aroma. The dough can be shaped into spiral or coil shapes by hand and also extruded using the mould. These spirals are then deep-fried in Coconut oil.
